Tradition records that a poor Portuguese woman resolved to put an end to her life because she was troubled day and night by voices telling her to kill herself. On her way to the river where she was going to drown herself, she entered the Shrine of St Anthony to offer a last prayer to the saint, then fell asleep. On awakening she found herself delivered from her terrible temptations, and hanging around her neck she found the Brief of St. Anthony. These are touched to a relic of the True Cross, a first-class relic of St Anthony and one of St Padre Pio's bloody gloves. This is a large one for hanging on the wall.
